Electrical cleaners must remove oil, carbon and salt from windings, switchgear and contacts, evaporate completely and leave high dielectric strength behind. Frequently asked questions
Is Electrosol safe to spray on a running motor?
No — isolate and de-energise first; the cleaner is non-conductive once dry, but wet solvent on live parts is a hazard.
Which grade is non-flammable?
The chlorinated-solvent grades (tetrachloroethylene based); the fast-drying hydrocarbon grades are flammable and so marked.
Will it attack insulation varnish?
Electrosol Quick Dry is tested on standard winding varnishes; check the compatibility note for older shellac insulation.
