Rig wash is the workhorse chemical on any drilling floor: a biodegradable, low-foam detergent-degreaser that lifts mud, grease and crude from decks, handling tools and the shaker area without attacking paint or rubber. RXSOL supplies it in concentrate (Rig Wash Liquid Concentrate, 1,000-litre IBC and 25/210-litre drums), as Rig Wash Green for low-toxicity sites, and as Rig Wash / T-Pol Multipurpose Detergent for general use; dilution is typically 1:10 to 1:50. Heavier soils are handled by Heavy Duty Cleaner, Degreaser Multi Clean and RXSOL 666 HD solvent-emulsion cleaner. How is rig wash diluted?
1 part concentrate to 10–20 parts water for heavy soil, 1:30–1:50 for routine deck washing; apply, agitate, rinse with water.
Is rig wash biodegradable?
Yes — the rig-wash formulations are readily biodegradable and phosphate-free; Rig Wash Green is the low-toxicity grade for environmentally sensitive sites.
