Scale is removed by acid; the art is choosing an acid that dissolves the scale and not the equipment. RXSOL's descalers are inhibited — they contain corrosion inhibitors (RODINE Sol is sold separately for plain acid) and indicators where useful — and are matched to the scale type. Calcium carbonate and lime scale: LIME Marine Water Scale Remover, Marine Descaler, ScaleX Pro Descaling Liquid, Safe Scale Remover with Indicator, AC2 Descalex Powder for site mixing. Heat exchangers and chillers: HVAC Chiller Descaling Chemical, Descalex Polymer Heat Exchanger, Scale Gun RX, Rust Calcium Remover. Marine growth and barnacles: Barnacle Buster Concentrate for sea-water lines and strainers. Coil fins: Condenser Alubright Coil Cleaner. Chelant and reducing options: Trisodium Dicarboxymethyl Alaninate (MGDA) and thiourea for silver and copper scale, plus Corrosion Inhibitor for Citric Acid for citric cleans.
Typical use is 5–10% solution circulated at 40–60 °C until effervescence stops, then neutralised and flushed; each page quotes the ratio and the neutraliser.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know the descaler has finished working?
The solution stops fizzing and, for indicator products, the colour stays red/acid; test pH stays below 2 on recirculation.
Is an inhibited descaler safe on copper and brass?
Yes within the stated time and temperature; for aluminium use the Alubright or a chelant product, not mineral acid.
Which product for a chiller condenser tube bundle?
HVAC Chiller Descaling Chemical or Descalex Polymer Heat Exchanger, circulated with a pump through the water box.
